Wishing Well Workshops
Wind with Wings
SOS; Siblings of Specials- Participants will increase self-esteem by feeling special as they join with others. Siblings who often support and accommodate the special challenges of their brothers and sisters feel better when they know they are not alone. When children feel understood they gain coping skills to deal with unique situations. These workshops increase individuation, self-awareness as well as the therapeutic and educational needs of the group.
Genuine Geriatrics- Nostalgia, reminiscing, and creative exploration of love and loss are integral to feeling a greater sense of self. Finding joy in today and optimism toward tomorrow is the focus of these lighthearted groups. Each workshop elicits a healthy range of movement and creativity and is the perfect outlet each week.
Rubber bands; Bouncing Back-This wellness workshop for adults is focused on support, strength and activities that nurture a renewed sense of self. Participants come together during a variety of playful yet therapeutic activities to access inner strength after difficult life changes. Challenges of parenting, work demands, and routine stresses can often be overwhelming when the unexpected happens. Meeting these challenges with confidence can promote more success.
Hang Time:Disarming the Playground; Violence Prevention through Movement and Pro-Social Skills- This workshop is based on a developmental progression of social skills for children as they move through different stages of play and interaction. Participants are taught to be assertive, to read and understand non verbal communication of others and how to ask for help when necessary. Role playing, cooperative games, problem solving and creative play are part of each session. Pro-social skills and self-awareness are pivotal to the child’s success while attending these workshops.
Baby Boomerangs;Coming Back to Me-After years of embracing a marriage, family, career or something more tangible; this workshop is designed to fill up an almost dry cup. Finding ways to feel satisfied while enjoying new experiences and a new routine is an important goal of these workshops. Focused on challenging the inner child, participants will benefit as they increase the quality and purpose for each day in an ever changing society.
ASD Rainbow Connections- this therapeutic group is designed with comprehensive support to increase the development of relationships and meaningful play interactions with others. Intense specialized psychotherapy is integral to the connections within these workshops. Please inquire for more details.
Social Butterflies & Friendship Fun- Boys and girls join with a focus on cooperative play skills, tolerance for others and discovery of self. This workshop is for the social child who benefits from a creative structure during social play and interactions. Developmental activities will be introduced to enhance strengths children bring to the weekly sessions.
Fostering Family Ties-New ideas are generated to create positive connect time for blended families or for those who foster the life of a child. Step Parents, step and half siblings and foster parents can learn more about self-awareness, personal styles and preferences. Areas of positive connect and disconnect can be explored to achieve a greater sense of relationship in a variety of settings and situations.
